Beautiful Pieces, I'm a new chess collector, of chess boards and pieces, I was waiting for this pieces, this are a very good pieces for the price, I love the queen and horse above all the pieces, and the bishop has his own style too. I tried the pieces in a 21 inch chess board with a 2.25 inch squares, and in a chess board that I bought in this website the 19 inch 2 inch squares one, the only mistake in the description is that the base of the King is actually 1 3/8, and not 1 3/4 as the description wrongly says, So I will recommend the 2 inch squares board for the pieces, overall excellent decision to buy. You won't be wrong buying them.
This is one beautiful set! I wanted to have a nice wood set and this exceeded my expectations!
A real pleasure to play with these pieces!
Beautiful pieces, that are sold and glide smoothly. Look forward to many years of playing with them
Weighted solid wood pieces are felted and glide smoothly.
Is the tip of the bishop fragile? I'm dubious if it can be broken accidentaly with a finger or maybe inside the walnut storage box.
Julian, I haven't heard that this is a common issue, in fact when it comes to pieces needing to be replaced for one thing or another it is not usually a bishop. However, if it comes up we can certainly supply replacement pieces for that set!
