The board is absolutely flawless with solid squares and no veneer. Well worth it. You get what you pay for. Just as good is how Chess House takes care of you. Packaging was as good as it could have been. I love these guys!

Delivery took some time, 3.5 months, but it was well worth the wait. The quality of construction can only be described as superior. The craftsmanship is of the highest quality and attention to detail...spectacular. My chess board featuring the walnut and maple finish, to include the inlaid custom finishes is fabulous. Beautiful board. The only problem ist that on the board which was picked for ne all of the squares of the a/h-file are clearly brighter than the rest.

I am currently working on becoming a USCF National Master, and this board has been a delight to bring to tournaments. It is very high quality and looks absolutely beautiful!

Beautifully made, elegant, nice quality wood and most important of all 2.25 square is perfect for any chess set. Been waiting for it for a while, buy it right away cause it limited and it will be the best chessboard one can own and last for a long time.

While there were some manufacturing delays in delivery, the table arrived and was easy to assemble, even including a required tool. We got it to use with our Isle of Lewis chess pieces that have been in the family for over 50 years and they fit the table quite well. Very pleased with the setup.

Beautifully made, great craftsmanship. For reason unknown to me, the weight feels slightly lighter than other JLP boards; still a great product that can be recommended to any serious chess lover!

I had a cheaper veneer board from another popular retailer, and took the plunge on this, wondering if it would be worth it considering the significant price difference. As soon as I took the board out of the box, all my fears were washed away. It was beautiful, incredible smooth and the finish is amazing. I played with a friend shortly after getting it, and they were just as impressed as me. I'll be buying one of the Drueke style boards soon as well, now that I've seen how great these boards are. I've been totally amazed by the quality of this board!

This board is of exceptional design and quality build. It is a pleasure to display and to play on. I went ahead and bought the matching table. They need to make one with 2 1/2 in squares also.

Amazing chess board. I purchased this along with the maple table from the same people who have been in woodworking for 5 generations, I believe. It is something I will enjoy for the rest of my life. No need to get another. This is stunning. the way each square lines up with the woodgrain is beautiful. The same goes for the frame.
Then there is Chess House the company. The best of the best! I had some issues with my delivery and it was fixed to complete satisfaction immediately. Great place. Great product! Enjoy it as much as me and my wife do!
