4" Grandmaster Series Chess Pieces - Ebonized

5 out of 5.

Very nice pieces and proof I don't have to spent a few hundred dollars for a nice wood chess set.

The Chess Master Tiger Ebony set exceeded my expectations. It’s a wonderful set with a beautiful, dark, rich color. Everything about this board feels perfect. My family and I have truly enjoyed playing on it, especially because of its size—it fits perfectly on our living room coffee table, and we play almost every day. It’s not only a beautiful chess set but also works great as a coffee table decoration for when you are not playing, while still making you want to sit down and play. I would definitely recommend this set.

A beautiful chess set. The pieces are eye-catching, and their heft makes them downright addictive. My 8 year old was so inspired by it that he beat me twice in 24 hours.

This is a very attractive and well made set. Construction of the board and pieces is spot on. As the Tiger Ebony is striped some may not be satisfied with it for the dark squares, but I find it works quite well particularly against the pure creamy white of the maple. The pieces are nicely finished and have a nice weight and good felting. Quite happy with the purchase. Turn around by Chess House was very timely. Time from order to delivery was less than a week (I'm in Georgia about as far from Chess House as one can get and still be in the US).

All was great and looks great

I've wanted a tournament set made of wood for a while now, but I found sets that were either too elegant/expensive to feel comfortable using, or sets that were so basic they were ugly to me.

This set strikes the balance: it's very pleasant to look at and yet feels durable. I'm not concerned about the pieces being handled or dropped. (Having the ability to buy replacement pieces adds to the piece of mind).

I only have two minor points to nitpick. 1) I think more weight in the pieces would be ideal.
2) I believe the king is taller than necessary or desirable compared to the rest of the pieces. Visually it looks unbalanced, and I've already seen players accidentally hit the king when reaching for other pieces.

Not just a nice set for the price point, but a nice set period, It will replace my plastic OTB Tournament set.

We’re delighted with these chess pieces! They’re beautifully made and look and feel amazing!

Really it's wonderful pieces and worth every penny of it and more

We got this set to go with our walnut chess table, also from Chesshouse. The pieces go beautifully with the table and are an excellent fit for the 2 1/4 inch squares. They also have a nice feel with their weighting. Highly recommend.

Very nice chess pieces that look fantastic on the board

Very nice pieces, shopping was very comfortable, only the Position "tax and duties" was quite expensive. But at least 4 Stars. Thank You!

This was my husband’s Christmas present and I’m very satisfied with the quality and service!

These pieces are great. The weight and size make for a wonderful first-time chess set for me and my daughter.

I haven't seen it yet but my son and grandson love it. My grandson is spending less time in front of the computer.

Very high quality set but one of the black rooks was broken from its top and has little scracth on the board. I repaired both of them on my own because sending back from Turkey to USA is also an issue. Did not want to waste my time with writing emails, re packaging, re shipment etc. It may be the carrier's fault. I do not know.

We love our set. Easy to hold. Easy easy on the eyes.
No complaints.

Beautiful!! My husband loved It

I ordered this set along with The Stack Tournament and find this set a perfect size, nicely weighted, and reasonably priced. A nice compliment to The Stack which is a piece of art in of itself.
