This is the second set of these pieces my family has ordered. My son bought one last year, and I bought one a few weeks ago. The pieces are beautiful and well made and I know we will get years of enjoyment from them. I would like to make one comment. My son’s set had each piece nicely nested in styrofoam such that none of the pieces could touch each other or get damaged during shipment. With my set, all of the white pieces were placed in a plastic bag with no protection such that they hit each other during shipping. The same with the dark pieces. While I don’t see any obvious damage, it is a better practice to nest each piece individually to protect them. You can see the difference in the two pictures. Thank you for asking for feedback and I hope this is helpful.
Great communication, great packing and shipping speed, great look and feel. These will be used and admired...greatly!
Spent a lot of time looking for the perfect pieces that would complement my self-made large olive and dark walnut wood chess board. This set is beautifully carved with lovely details and perfectly weighted. The pieces are definitely large so make sure your board has as least 2” squares.
Great quality, looks just as pictured & matches my home-made board. Fast shipping, packaged for safe arrival... just what I'd hoped for! (Home-made board, not included obviously)
Great, great set. Easy to maneuver and goid weight to the pieces.
Be warned: it's a large set. You'll need a good sized table to play on especially if, like me, you want space for a glass of good wine alongside when you play.
Customer service was also outstanding. I double ordered by mistake. The person I spoke to - yes, a real live young man - fixed my problem immediately.
My husband and I have been looking for a well made chess set to complement the chess board that he made in high school. This set is perfect!
The pieces are beautiful and well made.
When I saw these pieces on ChessHouse website I immediately knew... And when I received them via mail order my head spun at least 3 360 degree turns... And my words to express them was simple WOW!
Got this set for my husband for Christmas. He loves it SO much. Weighted perfectly, just the right sized piece, and quality that will allow them to become family heirloom!
The pieces are absolutely beautiful and goes very well with the JLP hardwood board. Very satisfied with Chess House service they provide....
These are very attractive and well weighted pieces. I use them on a chess board I made - they are an excellent complement to my handcrafted board.
If you want a chess set just for decoration for the house, or to have one for special occasions, this is the one. Each piece is beautifully crafted, and the design is stunning. Look for a chessboard with similar colors and display on a special table in your home.
These pieces are beautiful & weighted well. Absolutely stunning. Love playing with them, & they are beautiful to look at in between games too. Highly recommend. VERY happy! :)))
These are an amazing value for the money and the workmanship is top notch. I’m very happy with products from Chess House and always recommend them when asked.
It's a beautiful set, my children and I have really enjoyed it. Showed up quickly as well!
Everything just right, thank you!
Beautiful pieces. Fast shipping
I bought these for my boyfriend, and he absolutely loved them. He and his roommate commented several times on the great quality of the pieces, and I agree! Very nice work
Beautiful and quick service
Love the pieces. Match my husbands homemade chess board.
Was exactly what I was expecting and fits my chess board perfectly....tx Just finished a game against my kindle using the new pieces and kicked it's butt... I guess I need to up it's playing level... :-)
Beautiful chess pieces! Looking forward for the chessboard. =D Thank you all!
I have a beautiful Italian hand-made chess board . I have been looking a lot of years for the perfect set of "Staunton" pieces that would match the size and color pattern of my board. The pictures of this set and description were great and I could not believe the price either. I received the pieces and they are gorgeous and beyond what I had expected. They are beautiful, heavily weighted, felted and with that beautiful burnt finish. The last thing that I needed to complete this very unique, one of a kind set was a wooden, hinged box for the pieces that I found on E-Bay. It was a home-made one of a kind box as well. I won the bid. It is also beautiful. I thank you for offering this set at such a reasonable and affordable price. It is truly outstanding!! I can send a picture or 2 if anyone there is interested in seeing this unique, one of a kind setup. Thanks again for selling such a well made affordable product.
Sincerely,
