3 7/8" Hastings Black & Natural Chess Pieces

Perfect and exactly what I wanted. Must be amongst best quality plastic pieces out there. Great product and great service from Chess House. Thank you Raphael. Would highly recommend. Attached is photo of the pieces on Flex Pad laid out on piece of plywood I found and sanded down.

great size, nice finish. very durable. could use more weight. overall great set.

This set is an excellent value. The pieces are large in size, relatively heavy, and their classic styling is very aesthetic. They have no exaggerated or odd and unappealing features like so many other Staunton style pieces on the market. They're large, traditionally styled, very attractive, inexpensive plastic pieces that are well designed to withstand the wear and tear of club play.

the hastings chess pieces are so beautiful!
i strong recommend any one to get this set for his/her chess-battles!
thank you for the careful packaging and posting!

The design is perfect for my liking. The weight is really good too. Definitely recommend.

Maybe even great. Is it heresy to say the knight might be a touch too robust. LOL. oh that chest!!

I returned the pieces . They were a little bigger and not as heavy that I wanted .

For the price cant be beat, good wight for playing some fast games ....

It gives you that feeling of satisfaction

Despite some obvious flow lines from the manufacturing process, this is a nice set. Looks very good on the green vinyl board and the weighting is comfortable.

Great set for the money. Good detail, minimal casting lines, nice thick felt on the bottom. Would order again.

I received my 3 7/8" Hastings Black & Natural Chess Pieces in the mail
yesterday. The pieces are incredible. The weight and finish are superb. I have
played chess for a number of years with co-workers during our lunch hour and frequently after hours with sets that were similar to the Hastings Black and Natural pieces. I believe the detail on the Hastings set is even better.

Thanks for providing

I bought this set to play with my 8 years old son.
It's size just fine for both of us, with sufficient details for recognizing, great set.

I think because of the superlative description, I was a little disappointed with this House of Staunton set. I have a heavier, and more expensive set, which feels better and is more stable than this set. The plastic finish on this set is not great and gives the impression of being a budget set. The knight is too small and bulbous, and in a blitz game he can end up flying out of the fingers and a

I have absolutely no complaints. A great set at a great price! Thanks to the others before me who gave this great reviews! You steered me in this direction, and I am not disappointed!

I purchased the Hasting Combo last month and it has been one of the best purchases I have made in a long time. The quality of these pieces is wonderful much better than you would think for the cost. The weigh is great and I find myself playing with those more than any other set.

I purchased the Hastings chess combo & I'm very pleased. The weighted pieces feel great & the detail is superb. The leather roll up board is superior to the vinyl & better yet, it has a nice feel to it. The bag is a must, everything fits nicely.
One draw back about the size is it is larger than what I'm use to playing on, so now I get a larger picture of my 6 year old son destroying me. I can't figure it out, I'm not stupid, I can read a detailed schematic & my 6 year old can hardly read, but when it comes to chess I can't beat him. Presently he has 47 wins & I have 5. Thanks to "the Chess House" for making chess products that in turn bring people closer together.

I love this set of chess pieces. In fact, I love it so much I bought two (black & natural and red & ivory). The Hasting pieces have the best quality-per-price ratio of any plastic chessmen that I know of. The moldings are almost as nice of those of the more expensive Collector Series by House of Staunton, and the knight is absolutely beautiful. I don't agree that the rook is too large compared to the knight. These two pieces have virtually the same relative proportions as they do in the Collector Series. The Hastings rook is simply more tapered. This is a large set, so I recommend using it on a board with at least 2-3/8 inch squares to meet USCF standards.

Love the design of the knight, but it's too short in comparison to the rook. Sorry have to pass on this one.

Great Better than I expected
