3 3/4" Timeless Chess Pieces - Sheesham & Boxwood

Nice weighted wood pieces, very satisfied with quality and delivery. Looks great on Maple and Walnut Board. Thank you! Will buy again :-)

The finish looks and feels just like those of luxury set. Good contrast even with a very dark board. They are weighted but not tripple, still adequate for a fast game.

The chess set has been working well for me. The wood pieces are attractive and no issues with the green pad peeling off. The board (I bought the Flex Chess Set) is thin and sleek letting me fold it into a square without drawing creases. Actually some wrinkles do appear but then go if you rub them and leave the board flat for a while.

The pieces fit the board well, they sit in the cloth bags easily and the bag material is durable and soft and ties up securely. I'm really happy to find this store.

p.s. One thing I particularly like is that the pawns are pawns. They are short pieces half the size of the king and have no neck... unlike some other sets.

I ordered these pieces and a chess bag with the mesh style all the way to Finland, it took a while and that was to be expected but once the package arrived I couldn't have been happier with the products I received!
It was properly packaged so there was no chance the pieces would have been damaged on the way over here. And once I put the pieces on the board I had (don't know the size of the board, got it from a thrift store some time ago and it was in excellent condition. It was the reason why I ordered the pieces in the first place) and played a couple of games I was very happy I ordered these exact pieces!
Excellent quality, nice weight to all the pieces and it feels very satisfying moving them thanks to the green felt underneath, you can just glide them on the board, which I really like!

10/10 would order again!

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that this company, Chess House , was right in my own hometown , when looking for pieces to complement our professionally made , gift of a chess board. They were very helpful in picking out the pieces. Thank you for your great and friendly service

Thanks to Chess House for delivering a quality product (easy to compare with pics on website) and for double checking my order before shipping.

Keep up the great work!

Well worth the cost

For the price its a great deal. The wood quality may not be the absolute best but keep in mind that this is the cheapest full size and quality wooden pieces you can buy

This is a fairly well crafted set for the price. Since I am giving as a gift, I checked it over carefully when it arrived. All pieces had clean lines and cuts with the exception of one rook - notches along top were a bit roughly cut and not as deep as other rook. Bottom felt will need some reglueing on a few pieces before I gift it. Set does not weigh as much as described - I weighed it at just under 30 oz for entire set including 2 extra queens. That’s the only real disappoint. Flex pad (like very thin mouse pad) was in good condition.

The order was promptly delivered, but after the recipient opened the set, they reported that one pawn piece was cracked.

Perfect starter chess set. Love the weight of the pieces. Perfect for travel as well.

Great set very happy.

Actually I’m surprised at how nice these pieces are. They are vey nicely shaped in the classic Staunton design, and they have good weight. I would have liked a slightly better felt, but this is very nice for the money.

My 14 year old son wanted a real chess set for Christmas (we had a toy set already). Based on good reviews I had chosen the 3 3/4” timeless chess set and also a 19” chestnut board and two chess bags to go with the chess set. The chessmen pieces are beautifully crafted and the chessboard is gorgeous. The shipment arrived in well packaged condition before Christmas. My son did not want to wait to unpacked it. He enjoyed playing chess with his dad with this set. The customer service department is great! I got my mailing address wrong but they caught it on time! Kudos to you all in the Chess House. Thanks.

I would have given this 3 stars.... BUT..
First of all, the pieces are craftedly nicely with dark brown colored sheesham which I found aesthtically pleasing. The weight of the pieces are just perfect, with all pieces evenly weighted with there opposing colors. The only problem was that two black pawns and one white pawn did not stand balanced. When moving them on the board they would wobble. The one white pawn even made rattling noise, probably from the loose weights inside.

I reported this in their email support and immediately they responded back and they were very happy to send a new replacement.

The replacements came in a few days early.
They sent me me 2 black pawns and 1 white pawn. The white pawn is a perfect match with the other white pieces. One black pawn was a perfect match, but the second pawn looked like it was from another set. It was lighter brown and the style was obviously different.

Now what I did was peel off the billiard felt on and unbalanced piece and sandpapered it down than proceeded to glue the felt. It feels a bit better..

Overall,

The pieces I HIGHLY recommended to beginners to masters.

I was gonna give this a three because of the minor flaws

BUT the customer service for chesshouse.live is unbeatable. These guys are still my favorite chess company to purchase from.

I love the proportions of the set. And I love even more that it’s the set that Magnus and Vishy and Fabi and everyone plays on, in European tournaments. I was delighted when I discovered I could buy it from Chess House, at a very reasonable price!

Nice wood pieces, great feel from the added weight, very satisfied with quality and delivery.

I bought it for my son like a Christmas present. He likes the color and quality very much!
Thank you!

The set is very nice, with a nice finish and the pieces have a nice weight and feel to them. I bought this set for my family of 6. They are enjoying it very much and it also looks very nice in our office/den.

Could not be happier with the quality of this set and the service I received. Highly recommend.

Chess set was excellent as was the service!!
