3 3/4" Club Series Wood Chess Pieces - Ebonized

all about personal preference, I don't like when bishop pieces are visually (height and overall size) close to queen, that's why I chose this set of pieces, the drop-shaped "mitra" helps make them look smaller. the "fierce" horse is ok, top of rook is a little shallow, green felt is generous, better to be left over than scarce. I would rate it 4 stars, but again, is all about personal preference.

I was looking for chess pieces to match a 60 year old board my grandfather made for me as a child. The set I purchased was perfect size and weight, and every piece had a wonderful finish with no flaws. They were perfect, arrived in a timely manner, and will be passed on to my grand children. I constructed a wood case with some scrap lumber I had on hand, and it is a beautiful set! Thank you

Very nice quality set with well finished pieces. The weighting is good as well. The knights have somewhat of a French Lardy look to them but their mouths were open too wide for my taste. I filled them with wood putty, filed and sanded down the lower jaw and nose, then colored and clear coated that area. I worked on the black knights first since color matching the modified areas was easier.

My review will have to wait until the day after Christmas. Someone in my household has hidden the aforementioned chess set. I’m sure I will enjoy reviewing it on Christmas day. Just remind me after Christmas and then I’ll be happy to give you a review.

Thanks!

Bought this as a gift for my son along with the silicone board. Nice set comes with bags for each colour and an extra queen. Nice detail and felt padding on the bottom of each piece.

Good set ,fast delivery! everything went as expected , yes I'd do business here again.

This is the nicest chess set we've ever owned. The pieces are beautiful and the weighting is perfect. The board is very large and also beautiful. We're very happy with the set!

the pieces are beautiful, well weighted and crafted.

Amazing quality chess pieces, exactly what I was looking for. Thanks

I bought this chess set (actually it was the Club Chess Set Combo) as a gift. In came in great condition except for a crack in one of the queens. One email later and the Chess House customer service team was on the case and quickly sent us a replacement piece free of charge! The set is beautiful and I couldn't be more satisfied with the care we were shown.

Bought as a gift for my husband and I think it will be perfect!

Very pleased with the chess pieces as they fit the description of what my son was looking for - and he was very specific! (They are a Christmas gift.) Great quality for the money as well.

Very happy with the chess set. I think my grandson will love it!
