2 7/8" Marshall Series Chess Pieces - Half Set Of Pieces

Nice little plastic chess pieces. I ordered 2 sets. 1 black 1 white. I got them for a small 14”x14” chessboard. They fit perfectly on the smaller chessboard squares. I like them.👍

Pluses: Part of a typically well packaged and promptly shipped order.
Well proportioned, good looking pieces.
Easy to move, well weighted for size.
Works well with a a smaller board, many sets of this or similar size have bases which are
too large for a smaller boars which is sort of the purpose.
Red darker than photos but quite pleasant.
Minus: The "Natural" is too light- at first I thought it was white but when I compared it to the
same set I had with black and natural I saw that while these pieces are lighter
than the other sets they are probably not the "white" ones. ( I swapped lighter pieces
and am using those with these red ones.

As the title says, I like the height and weight. Only think I don’t like is the mold lines, makes them look cheap sadly.

I like the look, shape, and feel of the pieces. One of the bishops was flawed, but I received a replacement free of charge.

The weight of these smaller chess pieces makes all the difference. They don't feel like cheap or toy chess pieces. They are substantial, and they look professional. I can honestly say these are as satisfying as tournament size pieces for playing chess. I wish there were more options for a 14" board besides vinyl. Highly recommend these pieces.

This set is pretty good in terms of size, and the weight of the pieces is just perfect. The only problem is that pieces have a horrible mould line all around them.

I have found cheaper pieces with no mould lines at all, I don't see why they can't remove them from these pieces.

I got these with the mini Marshall kit they offer and am very pleased. I really wanted weighted pieces for my analysis set and these are perfect. The detail is nice, the weight excellent, and they appear very well made. Not sure I have seen a set I think is a better value if you want something small and weighted. Highly recommended.

These are nice plastic pieces with a metal weight inside. I bought them for a travel chessboard I am making with smaller (1.75") squares and I think they will fit fine. I plan to add magnets to the bottom and have purchased 6mm x 3mm neodymium magnets for this purpose. hoping I can drill into the metal weights far enough to insert the magnets without going through the metal. These pieces are very nice for a plastic set, and well worth the asking price.

These are replacement pieces for some marble pieces (which frankly, are so primitively carved it's hard to tell Queens from Rooks ... and Bishops from Pawns). These Chess House pieces are "just right" for our 2-inch squares board.

Classic appearance, very nice weight and good proportions. Timely delivery.

Ordered set of black and set of white. Each came with extra queen. Weight is nice, balanced. On 17” vinyl, they are well-spaced. Will probably try to remove the plastic seams from the molding process.

I would recommend to buy this set but have only 2 issues. Price is a bit much compared to the standard chess size but quality is not bad. I was looking for chess pieces to fit on the 14 inch vinyl board and it works good. The 14 inch vinyl board fits great on my desk and on coffee table.

I got the Red and White pieces and was worried that I wouldn't like them since they were out of stock on the black pieces. I would recommend them and glad I made this decision.

Only 2 issues I really see is the red chess pieces have some lighter markings that stand out plus one of the pawns has a bump on the bottom so its a bit uneven when set on the board. Other than that it would have received 5 star rating.

Overall the set is good and if your looking for a smaller set get these pieces. The weight on the pieces are great but don't buy it if its your one and only set. I would recommend the standard or basic chess set which are more economical.

I wanted a whole set and am upset because I thought a half set was the exception and not the rule of the order. Who wants just a half set? I will not order the other half of set as the shipping alone is more than the half set.

The Plastic is of high quality and the pieces are nicely weighted and of great design.

I wanted a smaller set to the one I currently have which is a set I bought 16 years ago from Chesshouse. 3 3/4 inch King. 62 grams! To me this set is matched very well with the 14” roll up. I ordered the Ivory and Red and in the future might order the White and Black as well. Thank you..

Perfect replacement sets for Chess4 'war chess' (4-player) that lost some pieces to grandkids. They all love to play, but it's hard when someone has to use a penny or a pebble, and it's hard to keep a set intact. Now I have spares. They're a great size for any 'standard' chess/checkers board like you'd get from a department store.

This set is the right size for over-the-board studying and analysis with my choice of smaller wood chessboards and roll-up mats. The pieces are weighted so they are stable and do not topple over. There are different color combinations that can be mixed and matched to provide contrast with my choice of chessboards. Lastly, the design, shapes, sizes and base widths of the pieces are pleasing to my eyes and do not cause any confusion even after hours of study and staring at the pieces.

To me the closest set to the old Drueke 2 1/2" Luxury Line set. Good minimal lines and portable.

The Marshall Series Chess pieces are just the perfect size for studying. The detail of the set is Superb. I highly recommend this product. You will not be disappointed. I chose really white set. Godbless 5 Stars.

The aesthetics of the pieces are outstanding. One recommendation, however: To my eye a board with 1.75" squares works better with this set than the board with 1.5" squares that was packaged with the set.
