It’s beautiful and so we’ll made, worth every penny.
The board squares are much more dull in colour than the images show on ChessHouse. I assume they either edited the photo, shone quite a lot of light on it, or chose the best one. Not sure. The board feels real nice, and is quite firm and strong. The paint job isn't amazing, with some visible unpainted parts.

Could of found this in a toy department…less expensive
I love it. Very Nice and it goes with my Medieval Chess Set.
I'm very happy with this chessboard except that the two colors of the squares are not very distinctive in person. Hopefully will not be an issue when playing. But the board goes fantastic with the blue and red Crusader Theme chess pieces. The distinctive colors of the pieces help make up for the lack of distinctive square colors.

My first experience from Chess House was somewhat disappointing. Order was timely, but when I received the shipment the inner box was not sealed. I discovered that a piece from the Fortress Chessboard was un-glued from the top of castle. Considering the price of the chessboard, I expected it to be of high quality. However I love the design, but I'm not sure if I want to order anything else from the company!
Well designed well put together the material is nice it’s not too heavy and I think I’m gonna be able to figure out a way to DIY a little storage area underneath because it’s very the bottom is very high off of the table
Love the board will probably have to buy two more for family members.

This chess board is nice looking but lack of color combo. Over all it is a nice board.
My intention in purchasing the fortress-style board was not as a playing surface but as a way to display a chess set made many years ago by someone very dear to me. It is a very unique design, one I have not seen before and will be perfect for my purpose. The board seems to be solid and well-made. The reason I did not rate this board as five stars is because the colors of the light and dark squares (on the board I received ) are very similar, not at all as depicted on your website.
