ChessUp 2 Chess Computer with Seamless Chess.com Integration

What I didn’t expect is that when I play people online having a physical board gives you an edge!

Good S/H: ChessUp 2 arrived in good condition and on time for Christmas despite Postal Strike. Excellent service, communication and quality for the price compared with other merchants. I highly recommend Chesshouse for game purchases. A1

ChessHouse: Best price anywhere. Fastest shipping anywhere.
ChessUp2 Board: 100 times better than ChessnutGo I ordered. First off, ChessnutGo freezes in multiple student houses, multiple rooms, multiple tables. This has caused my students to lose games and rating points. ChessUp2 has never had an issue ever. In addition to being 100% reliable, ChessUp2 is a much better size, has way better lighting, much better features, is much easier and faster to get in games as it does not require a separate phone. Etc, etc, etc. ChessUp2 is superior to ChessnutGo in absolutely every way and well worth the extra money. And again, ChessnutGo for many people, simply does not work in many perfectly normal locations like kitchens or dining rooms. My Go was defective and I requested a return Jan 6. After a few back and forth emails with customer service, (some taking 9 days for them to respond) assuring me if I jump through certain hoops like filming the board not working, with a second phone, to see the other phone connected to the app, they have still refused to authorize a return, as of this writing, 18 days.
I had to file a claim with my credit card, and if you google this, you will see many others with the same problem :( Bottom line: do NOT get anything Chessnut. DO get a Chessup2. And DO get it from ChessHouse!

Bought this for myself and my kids to learn chess. Theyre under 10 and we have all learned from reading books and playing with a regular chess set. But the enthusiasm wasnt there and we got bored learning. Then we got this and the kids have all been playing non-stop. As have I.

Pros
- Play against the AI and select how hard you want it to play. Then set your side up to assist as much or as little as you like.
- When you touch a piece (depending on the setting) it will tell you where the piece can legally move and by lighting up red, blue or green you can see the best moves.
- Not sure where to move? Touch all the pieces and see which ones light up green. Kids love that. Very educational.

Cons
- Doesnt work with any of my Android phones - needs 11 and up. Which is a shame because Android phones are so good they last for years. My 5 year old LG GS5 is still going strong but only Android 5. There should be a web option for bluetooth computers where you dont have a compatible phone. However it will work in basic mode without a phone so its still playable. For this much money though I think they should tell you up front about what it is compatible with.
- It seems to cheat. It will recommend a move and then instantly take your piece. This might be a good sacrifice for a seasoned player but I dont see moves far enough ahead yet.
- Game strength seems to be random. On the easiest setting I can win game or 2 with not too much stress, and then on the next game it will come after me with a vengeance. Maybe its trying to challenge my skills.... unfortunately because there is no phone hookup I dont know - maybe on the phone it would tell me what it was doing.
- No feedback - maybe thats on the phone too.
- Very poor instructions. Again maybe its on the phone - we got the basics on the website - but its very basic and the FAQs are not well developed. For example - Can I take back a move? Change my mind? Or if I make a mistake and knock over a piece I just see lights and am not always sure how to et back to where I was so I have to start over.

Overall I love it and would buy it again. Hopefully they will improve the app capabilities soon :)

This is one of the coolest things I've ever purchased! It's a great way for kids to play chess online without it feeling like "screen time." You don't need a phone or computer to play (after the initial setup). If you love Chess.com but wish you could play on a physical board, this thing is perfect.

My only real complaint has more to do with user error than the board itself. You have to be careful not to pick up multiple pieces at once. For example, when castling, you need to move the king first, then the rook, following the board's lights. If you do things out of order, the board can get a little confused. The same thing can happen during quick exchanges if you remove captured pieces in the wrong order.

Another minor downside is that when playing online with a chess clock, you're at a slight disadvantage because you spend an extra second or two physically moving your opponent's pieces. That said, I actually find that moving their pieces helps me pay closer attention to their strategy.

Those are pretty minor complaints, though. This thing is incredibly cool, feels well-built, and the LED lights are bright and beautiful. I genuinely love playing on it!

Thank you for the help & great service delivering a wonderful chess set for my son's friends birthday & for the set for us as well
Paul was great

Love everything about this product!!!

Over the years, I have had several chess computers. This Chess Up 2 is my favorite. I really like how in conjunction with the Chesss Up app, it makes learning and playing chess more enjoyable. Playing on Chess.com and Lichess is great. No glitches. The Ai feature is great for people wanting to learn and play chess. Lower rated/skilled players will be able to play better players.
Some people complain about the plastics and cost. In my opinion, for what you are getting in technology and features it’s competitively priced.
Highly recommend.

Wow, ChessUp2 is incredible! And the shop is just perfect! I highly recommend ChessUp2 and the shop!

ChessUp 2 Chess Computer with Seamless Chess.com Integration

We love chessup2. My kids are 9, 6 and 3 and they all love playing chess now too. I like that it’s helping my kids remember how the pieces move. And they whip the game out on their own because they want to play with each other. My 9 year old doesn’t want assistance at all now. I was looking at chessnut air plus and chessnut go. I’m glad I went with chessup2.

It’s so easy to play online compared to my other boards. I prefer to play over the board and this opens up a world of opponents online. Perfect for beginners and up

I really could not be any more pleased with this device. Playing online works great. Playing the internal engine is fantastic. The squares light up in very dynamic ways. You can adjust how much assistance you get. You can have your moves rated after the fact.

The pieces feel great in hand. The sizing feels just right. Sensors sense the pieces very well. The experience has been flawless so far.

The team at Chess Up really seem to know what they're doing.
A+ product.

This chessboard makes teaching chess much easier. My students are highly engaged with the board and are learning so much

My spouse and I have very different ability levels, but the ChessUp2 lets us play competitive games anyway. We love this! I haven't yet used it for games online but am glad to see that it now supports Lichess as well as Chess dot com.
Finally, the service and shipping from Chess House were excellent. I couldn't be happier.

This is a very nice chessboard and setup was very easy to complete. The AI assist is very interesting. Note that the AI assist does not work on chess.com games (it's clear in the videos, but I didn't notice that prior to purchase). The pieces feel nice and solid, and the touch to get move options is very cool. As a beginner, I recommend this to others learning the game!

Toujours les mêmes problèmes avec une lumière blanche sous la case de la tour et je ne peux plus jouer

Easy to use!

Great Electronic Chess board! Connected online to Chess.com and my favorite ‘Martin the Bot’ without any problems. Offline, enjoyed playing the ChessUp AI bot. Features that come with much more expensive electronic chess boards, yet without experiencing some extremely frustrating setup\failure headaches like I had with a couple previous electronic chess boards purchases. How nice *****

My grandson was thrilled to receive Chessup2 for his birthday. The setup process was quick and easy with no issues. As always, the Chess House customer service was outstanding. The Chessup2 chess pieces fit well in the Sapele Storage Box (3.75) that I bought.

The Chess House Service and personal attention by CEO Raphael was outstanding!

The new launch AI capable chess board product was received in Australia just in time for my sons birthday which was great.

The product was also excellent and being used regularly and enjoyed to the full.

Many thanks again to the wonderful Chess House team.!

Chesshouse and ChessUp 2 are the quintessential combination representing the best of the best!!

So cool, loving it so far!

I have almost every chess computer made in the last few years--I'm fascinated by them. For absolute ease of use and for game enhancement and helpful features, this computer is easily one of the easiest and most fun to use. I am very satisfied with it-- works out of the box, interfaces easily with Chess. com. Received as Christmas present and purchased from Chess House, I could not be happier!

I am glad Chess Up 2 utilizes piece recognition now.

Good

Hello..., What a great investment and an excellent way to learn more about Chess and an excellent AI Chess Computer. We all enjoy family and friends, playing and learning more about the game of Chess on the "ChessUp Chess Computer." Another enjoyment was buying from ( Chess House ) and the "Customer Service" was EXCELLENT ! ! ( FedEx ) was late on delivery..., however, Chess House was courteous and professional, and it all worked out in the end. Five ( 5 ) Gold Stars to Chess House, who I highly recommend ! ! Michael in historic Uptown Butte, Montana... :)
